What can you do when your joints swell up, won’t bend, won’t straighten, or are generally a source of pain or fear? How can you use your yoga practice to safely enhance your recovery after an injury, or after surgery?
In this series of workshops, you’ll learn the basic structures of the musculoskeletal system. Having a strong foundation in the anatomy will give you confidence, both as a practitioner and as a teacher, to “see” problems and know how to correct them. We’ll cover general principles of joint rehabilitation, safe variations of basic asanas, manual adjustments and the use of props.
We’ll explore how an enhanced understanding of anatomy will help you use your yoga practice to heal old injuries; how to avoid yoga injuries in the future; and how to deepen your practice safely.
